David Powell, P.E.

Dave has lived his entire life in Idaho living in small rural communities and finally ending up in Boise where he finished his high school education and followed with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Drafting Technologies. Dave started drafting in Boise with a local engineering firm, where he decided early on that he needed more fulfillment of being in charge of complete projects and not just adding the finishing touches. The opportunity came in the late 70’s with the economic downturn. Dave packed up his family of three and move to Moscow to complete his education in Civil Engineering. After graduating in 1984, Dave has never looked back. In his early career, Dave worked for smaller engineering firms where he had to wear many hats. When he was not concentrating on federal and state airport improvement projects and state of public works projects, Dave was working on high end residential developments. Later, in the early 90’s Dave was required to make a choice between state and federal projects, or the private sector and the development world. Wisely, he chose the private sector, where his focus remains to this day. Dave, along with his partner Barry Semple, founded RiveRidge Engineering Company in 2004, specializing in Civil Engineering support to commercial and residential development, utilizing their combined expertise in difficult projects along the waterways and foothills of Idaho.
